Adam Collard, known for his appearances on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating, broke down in tears on the latest episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins as he spoke about the miscarriage suffered by his fiancée, sports presenter Laura Woods.
The 29-year-old, who is now engaged to Woods and father to their son Leo Ernie Collard, became emotional during an interrogation scene with the Directing Staff. They read out articles that had previously labelled him 'public enemy number 1'. He revealed that just weeks before conceiving their son, the couple lost a baby when Laura was 11 weeks pregnant.
Struggling to speak, Collard said: 'There was one or two things that happened... One of them was with my partner... and... we, erm lost something... when it was really close to getting there a second time and telling everyone.' He added that he had pretended to be fine in front of Laura but was deeply affected, saying: 'When we lost the baby, the first thing I thought was it was karma for all the people I hurt.'
Viewers praised Collard for his vulnerability. On X, Chelcie wrote: 'Honestly wasn't a massive fan of Adam on love island but watching him speak so openly and emotionally about his life and the things he's been through brought a tear to my eye! Well done Adam, done yourself and your family proud.'
Collard later thanked supporters, writing: 'Thank you for all of the nice messages after tonight's episode. I have connected with so many people since talking out... as men we are often quite terrible at this. But not forgetting about women too.' He also praised Laura for helping him open up, saying: 'I'd say I'm pretty closed off as a person and she definitely helped me to open up.'
