First Dates Star Laura Tott Welcomes Second Child After Chaotic Hospital Birth
Laura Tott welcomes second child after dramatic birth

Reality TV favourite Laura Tott has announced the arrival of her second child, a baby girl named Lucy Clarke, but the former First Dates star has revealed the birth was preceded by a dramatic and chaotic hospital experience.

A Dramatic and Denial-Filled Arrival

The 31-year-old, who is also mother to two-year-old son Leo, took to social media to share the joyful news alongside an adorable photo of her sleeping newborn. However, she candidly detailed the stressful lead-up to her daughter's birth on Tuesday, 5th December 2025.

Laura explained she spent an entire day mistakenly believing her pelvic-floor muscles were failing, thinking she was "randomly peeing a little all day." In fact, her waters had been slowly leaking. She admitted to ringing maternity triage at Tameside Hospital several times but hanging up before they answered, "just in case" she was simply wetting herself.

"Fully in denial at this stage, for sure," Laura wrote, recalling asking midwives if she would be sent home soon. The situation changed rapidly, and her labour "really ramped up," leading to Lucy's "dramatic entrance shortly after."

Family Joy and Fan Celebrations

Alongside the birth announcement, Laura posted a heartwarming video of her son Leo meeting his baby sister for the first time in the hospital, captioning it: "A little earlier than expected, our little Lucy has arrived. Leo is as smitten as we are." She expressed immense gratitude to the staff at Tameside Hospital, calling them "incredible."

Fans and former colleagues were quick to flood the comments with congratulations. Her First Dates co-star Fred Sirieux responded with a heart emoji, while a fan from Melbourne, Australia, praised the "beautiful moment."

A Challenging Pregnancy Journey

Laura's path to welcoming Lucy was not straightforward. She had previously disclosed that she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, a condition where the body cannot produce enough insulin. This was her second experience with the condition, having also had it while pregnant with Leo.

Sharing an update on Instagram earlier in her pregnancy, she expressed hope that the diagnosis would not affect her delivery plans, stating she was "hoping for a VBAC" (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean).

Laura, who left First Dates in 2021 to train as a paramedic, married her partner in 2022. The couple announced they were expecting their second child in December 2025 with a post that read: "Life is about to get a little crazier."
