Kelsey Parker reveals baby son was stillborn

In an emotional and deeply personal revelation, Kelsey Parker has shared the devastating news that her baby son was stillborn earlier this year. The widow of The Wanted star Tom Parker opened up about the heartbreaking loss of their son, whom they had named Phoenix.

A Mother's Heartbreaking Announcement

The 34-year-old shared her story during an appearance on Lorraine, explaining that she discovered the tragic news during what should have been a routine 32-week scan. "I went for my 32-week scan, and they couldn't find a heartbeat," Kelsey revealed, her voice filled with emotion. "That was probably the worst day of my life."

Gratitude Amid Grief

Despite her overwhelming grief, Kelsey expressed profound gratitude for the care she received from NHS staff during this traumatic experience. "The care I received from the NHS was just unbelievable," she shared. "From the consultants to the midwives, they were just incredible."

The medical team provided compassionate support, even arranging for Kelsey to be cared for on a different ward away from other mothers and newborn babies, showing sensitivity to her devastating circumstances.

Honouring Phoenix's Memory

Kelsey and her two children with late husband Tom - three-year-old Aurelia and two-year-old Bodhi - have found meaningful ways to remember baby Phoenix. "We talk about him every day," Kelsey explained. "The kids will get a balloon and we'll let the balloon go."

She described how her daughter Aurelia understands that "the balloon goes up to heaven to Phoenix and to Daddy," creating a beautiful connection between the children and their lost family members.

Continuing Tom's Legacy

The tragedy comes just over two years after Kelsey lost her husband Tom to an inoperable brain tumour in March 2022. The couple had been married since 2018 and faced his cancer diagnosis together with remarkable courage.

Kelsey continues to honour Tom's memory through her work with The Tom Parker Foundation, which raises funds for research and treatment of brain tumours. Her strength in facing multiple profound losses has inspired many who have followed her journey.

Raising Awareness About Baby Loss

By sharing her story so openly, Kelsey hopes to bring comfort to other families who have experienced similar losses. "If I can help one person by talking about it, then that's what I'll do," she stated.

Her courage in speaking out about stillbirth and baby loss helps break the silence around these difficult topics, offering solidarity to others navigating similar grief.
