Irish actress Jessie Buckley has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with husband Freddie. The 35-year-old Oscar nominee confirmed the news on The New York Times Modern Love podcast, revealing she gave birth quietly earlier this year.
Buckley, who tend to keep her private life out of the spotlight, announced her pregnancy on the red carpet at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April 2025. Speaking on the podcast, she said: 'Everyone is doing great. I mean, everything is different.' She described motherhood as 'intense' but said she 'loves it so much'.
The Wicked Little Letters star said she can already see her daughter's personality emerging: 'I see this life force in her and determination. And I hope she loves life as much as I do.' She revealed she fell pregnant a week after wrapping filming on her upcoming drama Hamnet, in which she stars opposite Paul Mescal and Joe Alwyn.
Buckley married her husband Freddie in a private ceremony in 2023. The couple split their time between Norfolk and a flat in Dalston. Her baby news comes after a string of celebrity pregnancy announcements on red carpets, including Sienna Miller and Ellie Goulding in December.
