Fashion entrepreneur Adam Frisby and his fiancé, Jamie Corbett, have announced the joyful arrival of their first child, a baby girl. The couple welcomed their daughter via a surrogate in Connecticut, USA, on Friday.
A Long-Awaited Arrival
A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the happy news, stating: 'Adam and Jamie are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby daughter.' The representative added that the new fathers are overjoyed and are cherishing their first days as a family. 'Baby, surrogate and dads are all doing great,' they confirmed.
The newborn weighed a healthy 6lbs 15oz at birth. The couple, who are based in the UK, have not yet finalised a name for their little girl.
The Surrogacy Journey: Challenges and Choice
The path to parenthood was not straightforward for Adam, 38, the founder of new fashion label Reasn, and Jamie. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail last August, they revealed the complexities of their surrogacy process.
The couple initially matched with a surrogate in 2022, but sadly suffered a miscarriage before the surrogate withdrew from the process. 'It was obviously a lot for her to go through, and then we were kind of back to the start of the process, which was gutting for us after three years,' they shared.
After several unsuccessful calls with other potential surrogates, they finally found the right match last year and flew to the US to meet her. The couple opted for surrogacy in America due to a clearer legal framework. 'In the US, it's completely different. You join an agency, and it's legally documented from day one. We're always in terms legal parents, so the process is just much easier,' they explained.
The main logistical hurdle involved travelling to America for scans and the birth, followed by a four-to-six week wait for the baby's passport before returning to the UK. 'But it is a small price to pay,' they said.
Celebrations and Future Plans
The couple, who are godfathers to Charlotte Crosby and Jake Ankers' two children, said spending time with them provided invaluable practice. They described Charlotte as an 'incredible mother' and said she was overcome with emotion when they shared their news.
On balancing work and fatherhood, Jamie noted that Adam's role as his own boss and their ability to work together would allow flexibility. 'If there are days when we're both in the office, we can take baby with us. We've always worked like that,' he said.
Adam recently stepped down from In The Style, the brand he founded in 2013, which later entered administration. He is now focusing on his new venture, Reasn, and a behind-the-scenes mini-series.
