A one-year-old baby girl suffered serious injuries after falling from a first-floor window onto a man walking below in Rainham, Kent. The incident occurred when the child dropped from the window and landed on an elderly pedestrian before hitting the pavement.
Witness Becky Zacharow initially thought a doll had fallen, but realised it was a baby when the girl began screaming. Ms Zacharow said she picked up the infant to comfort her and noticed a large bump on her head, as well as bleeding from her nose and mouth.
The baby was taken to a London hospital where she remains in a stable condition with major injuries. Police have not released further details about her current state.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the fall. She has been released on bail as investigations continue, Kent Police confirmed.
