Ayrshire Cancer Support has expanded its Bereavement Café to Ayr, making the service available in both Ayr and Kilmarnock. The move aims to provide more people affected by cancer-related loss and grief with easier access to support closer to home.
A Welcoming Space for All
The Bereavement Café offers a warm, welcoming, and informal environment where individuals can come together to share experiences, connect with others who understand, or simply enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in a supportive setting. Whether someone feels ready to talk or prefers to listen, everyone is welcome.
Weekly Sessions, No Booking Needed
The café will now take place every Friday, alternating between Ayrshire Cancer Support's drop-in centres in Ayr and Kilmarnock. This rotation makes it easier for people across Ayrshire to access compassionate bereavement support. Attendance is free, and no advance booking is required.
Anyone affected by cancer-related bereavement is encouraged to simply drop in and meet the team, who will be on hand to offer a friendly welcome and ongoing support.
Expanding Community Support
By bringing the Bereavement Café to Ayr, Ayrshire Cancer Support hopes to ensure more people have access to a safe, understanding space as they navigate grief, while continuing to build supportive connections within their local community.
