Australian skincare brand Airyday's Golden Glow SPF50+ Dreamscreen has earned a 4.9-star rating from more than 1,400 reviews, with shoppers calling it a 'game changer' and the 'perfect makeup base'. The £39 SPF-primer hybrid delivers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection with a sheer golden tint for a luminous finish.
Award-winning SPF with a golden tint
The formula offers a radiant, sheer satin finish for a 'fresh from holiday' look on bare-faced days, or can be worn under makeup as an illuminating primer. Airyday says the golden tint is formulated to complement all skin tones, with Pearl Glow and Bronze Glow alternatives also available.
Founder Frances van der Velden developed the range after being diagnosed with skin cancer at 36, frustrated that conventional sun creams felt tacky, greasy or uncomfortable. The brand's SPF Wardrobe includes glowy, soft focus and invisible formulas tailored to different skin types.
Skin-nourishing ingredients
The formula is water resistant for up to 40 minutes and contains niacinamide, vegan collagen, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C, E and F. Blue Oleoactif, a plant-based active, is included to help shield against urban pollution and blue light.
One reviewer wrote: "I wear this every day, it provides a beautiful glow on its own or under make up. It is light weight and has a beautiful fresh fragrance. Best SPF I have used for my face." Another added: "Love this stuff. Leaves my skin glowy and even, and I feel quite smug knowing I'm also protected by the sun without having to layer another product on."
Shopper reviews and alternatives
A woman aged over 65 said she had bought Golden Glow multiple times and applies it daily throughout the year, adding: "It gives my sensitive skin a lovely healthy glow and protects against the elements, will be a constant as part of my skincare routine."
One shopper praised it as "By far the best face sunscreen I've used", noting it "Goes on easily, evens my skin tone and doesn't make me breakout". Another said: "I've always hated wearing sunscreen because it feels sticky and heavy but I actually want to apply this."
While the product features a champagne and peony scent, one individual found it overpowering, but said: "I will put up with it because it's all I have ever wanted from sun protection for my face."
Other SPF50+ options in the range include Mineral Mousse SPF50+ (£39) for oily and combination skin, Pretty in Zinc SPF50+ (£39) for sensitive or acne-prone skin, and Clear As Day SPF50+ (£39) for dry complexions. The Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen Sunrise SPF 30 PA+++ is available at Sephora for £27.38, and the Kosas DreamBeam Sunscreen SPF 30 40ml is £29.60 at Cult Beauty.
