A woman with a limp who was sitting in a disabled seat on a train has told how an “entitled” mother demanded she move for her family – only to miss her flight after boarding the wrong carriage.
The woman, who struggles to walk quickly, said she usually sits in the disabled seat on her commute home in a German town. On a recent journey, a family of five – mother, father, two children and a grandmother – boarded with suitcases and began arguing over whether the train went to the airport. The mother was certain it did, but they were in the rear section, which heads to the suburbs.
When the mother approached the woman and told her to make room, saying she “should not be sitting there”, the woman quietly got up. The father pointed out her limp, but the mother only offered a sour apology. The woman moved a few seats away and watched with “malicious delight” as the family realised they were in the wrong part of the train and missed the last chance to switch to the airport-bound section.
In a Reddit post, the woman said she would have made room anyway, but the mother’s entitled attitude changed her mind. Commenters praised her restraint, with one simply saying “Karma” and another calling it “a first-class ticket to poetic justice”.
