Matt King, best known for playing Super Hans in the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, has issued a health update after suffering a rare spinal stroke. The 58-year-old actor revealed he was initially paralysed but is now able to walk again.
In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, King said: 'It’s true. I had a rare stroke of the spinal cord on Sunday. I was initially paralysed but was rushed to The Royal Sussex and the staff have been amazing. Can walk again, a bit. My legs were jelly, man. It didn’t feel f****** brilliant. Thank you for all the love and kindness.'
According to the Brain and Spine foundation, a spinal stroke is a disruption in the blood supply to the spinal cord, accounting for 1.25% of all strokes. King thanked fans for their support as he continues his recovery.
Meanwhile, there is no confirmation of a Peep Show return. Co-stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb previously stated on The One Show that while they have not ruled out revisiting the characters in their old age, there are currently no plans for a revival.
