Good Morning Britain has sent heartfelt wishes to Emma Willis after the presenter disclosed she underwent secret keyhole heart surgery. The 48-year-old former Big Brother host revealed on Instagram that she had been living with a congenital heart defect, a hole in her heart, for 48 years without knowing.
On Thursday's episode of GMB, entertainment correspondent Melvin Odoom shared the show's support. He said: 'Emma, if you're watching this, we love you girl. Get well soon from everyone here at Good Morning Britain.' He then blew a kiss to the camera.
Emma thanked the NHS staff at Royal Brompton Hospital and her husband Matt Willis for their care. Keyhole heart surgery is a less invasive procedure than open-heart surgery, involving small incisions in the chest, which reduces complications and speeds up recovery.
Celebrities including Giovanna Fletcher, Jools Oliver, Olly Murs, Cat Deeley, and Davina McCall have sent their love. Davina, who recently had a brain tumour removed, wrote: 'Thinking of you all and sending you huge healing hugs.'
