Davina McCall has revealed she has been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, adding to a series of health setbacks that have tested one of Britain's most popular television presenters.
Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, Begin Again, the 58-year-old said she wanted to share the diagnosis publicly as part of a wider conversation about heart health, particularly among women, the Daily Star reports.
She said: "I wanted to let you know, I also have cardiovascular disease, and this is a very important conversation to have. Anyone can get sick and when I had my cancer experience, you just suddenly feel vulnerable in a way you weren't before...Once you've been ill, you think 'Oh, I thought I was invincible'."
World Menopause Day campaign
Marking World Menopause Day, McCall joined forces with the British Heart Foundation to highlight the risks of cardiovascular disease in women. Although she did not discuss her own condition in detail, she urged people to seek medical checks and take symptoms seriously.
She said: "Heart attacks and cardiovascular disease is rife out there particular in women post menopause. If there's one takeaway today it's not to brush things off. Get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, and if something feels wrong, listen to your body."
Earlier heart health scare
Back in 2021, fitness advocate Davina - who released a range of popular exercise videos during the 2000s - disclosed she faced heart disease risk.
She previously said: "When they said I had high cholesterol, I just looked at my GP and asked if it was a mistake!". Despite always maintaining a trim figure, Davina cut fat and cheese from her diet and swapped full-fat for semi-skimmed milk - describing the change as a "big sacrifice."
Cancer battle and wedding
The former Big Brother host - who has Holly, 24, Tilly, 22, and Chester, 19 with ex-husband Matthew Robinson - was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour in late 2024 before being told she had breast cancer less than a year afterwards.
In April, she revealed she had beaten cancer and has heaped praise on her new husband, Michael Douglas, calling him the "kindest, smartest" man she has ever known for standing by her throughout her illness.
The couple wed last December and celebrated with a second ceremony in July. She said: "I can't believe that I am at this ripe old age, with everything I've been through, and was lucky enough to experience it with him at my side. He had just the right mix of real wisdom, knowing the right thing to say at the right time, but also just the right side of funny."
