Strictly Fans Slam Cach Mercer and Maddie as 'Rude'

Strictly Come Dancing viewers took to social media to criticise Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby for allegedly failing to thank the public after being voted through on Sunday night's results show, with some labelling the pair "rude" and "ungrateful".

Reaction to the Results Show

The October 18 episode followed the usual format, with the remaining celebrities and their professional partners awaiting the results. Big Brother host Will Best and Dianne Buswell were the first couple declared safe, followed by dog trainer Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley. Both pairs hugged and expressed gratitude to viewers for voting to keep them in the competition.

Love Island star Cach Mercer and newcomer Maddie Ingoldsby were the third couple to learn they had made it through to the next week. Although Maddie appeared to thank viewers before hugging Cach, some fans were dissatisfied, accusing the duo of being the only pair who "never say thank you" after being voted through.

Social Media Backlash

One viewer wrote: "Has anyone told Cach and Maddie they need to say thank you after the vote?" Another agreed: "Another week of Cach and Maddie NOT saying thank you for the public vote." A third commented: "Every week Cach and Maddie are the only ones not to thank the audience once they're announced as safe."

A fourth added: "I do like Cach and Maddie but every couple when they're announced they've been saved, usually thanks the audience for voting them through, but they just sort of...don't." Another disappointed fan said: "Cache and Maddie NOT saying thank you…....AGAIN. Shame on them. It's just goes to prove how rude they are."

Cach's Response

Shortly after the show, Cach shared a statement on Instagram thanking his supporters. In a video with his dancing partner, he said: "Through to another week, thank you to everyone that voted for us. It means so much to us, we love all the support and kind comments you give every week. Can't wait to do it all again next week!"

Strictly Come Dancing is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
