Family's Agony as Scottish Father Fights for Life After Holiday Cardiac Arrest

A family from Glasgow is living through a nightmare after a 52-year-old father suffered a devastating heart attack while on a winter break in Turkey. Peter McMahon went into cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday, 22nd November 2025, with his heart stopping for a staggering 70 minutes.

Daughter Rushes to Bedside

His 20-year-old daughter, Teigan, immediately flew out to be at her father's hospital bedside after receiving the distressing call. She has described the harrowing situation, revealing that her father is currently being kept alive by machines in the Intensive Care Unit. The prolonged period without a heartbeat has caused significant damage to his kidneys, and he is now undergoing dialysis.

Teigan told the Daily Record that she is praying for a miracle for her dad. She shared that he had experienced a mini heart attack a few months ago, but emphasised that this latest incident was totally different. Medical staff were forced to perform CPR on him for over an hour in a desperate attempt to save his life.

Appeal for Support Launched

As Peter remains in a coma, his family has launched an appeal for support. The emotional toll on his loved ones is immense as they maintain a vigil, hoping for any sign of improvement. The incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly a dream holiday can turn into a life-or-death medical crisis far from home.
