Appeal after family of dogs, including tiny puppy, found on Taff Trail
Appeal after dog family found on Taff Trail

An appeal has been launched after what is believed to be a family of dogs was found on the Taff Trail. A very young puppy was among three dogs found somewhere along the popular walking and cycle route.

The puppy is thought to be between eight and 12 weeks old and was found with two dogs believed to be its mum and dad. The three dogs were taken to Cardiff Dogs Home in Llandough on Wednesday.

Dogs named by shelter

The rescue shelter is now appealing for anyone with information to help them find out more about the dogs and their story to get in touch. The shelter has decided to name the dogs for now, with the mum being called Sabrina, the dad Harvey Kinkle, and the puppy Salem.

Sabrina is thought to have had multiple litters, according to the shelter.

Microchip details revealed

In its appeal, Cardiff Dogs Home said one of the dogs is microchipped but the registered phone number is switched off. Another one of the dogs has a microchip, but the chip isn't registered.

The shelter also doesn't know exactly where along the Taff Trail, which runs from Cardiff Bay to Brecon, the dogs were found.

It said: "Someone must recognise them. Have you seen them before, know where they've come from, or have any information that could help us piece together their story?"

Anyone with information should email cardiffdogshome@cardiff.gov.uk.
