Trump Says Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Algae Removal a Success
Trump: Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Algae Removed

Donald Trump announced that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is back 'in full use' after 'criminally made algae' was removed from the historic structure over the weekend. The president took to Truth Social to celebrate the cleanup, stating that the pool is now working well and that the algae problem has been resolved.

Trump Blames Vandals for Pool Damage

Trump claimed that vandals were responsible for the damage to the pool, which has faced ongoing issues since its multimillion-dollar renovation. Despite the pool remaining fenced off with plans to drain and resurface it around the July 4 holiday, Trump insisted it was functioning properly. 'It never worked properly until last week and, right after July 4th, when we will drain the water to treat the damage caused by these “animals,” it will again be in perfect shape,' he wrote.

Ongoing Maintenance and Future Plans

The National Park Service has scheduled a full drainage and resurfacing of the pool after the July 4 celebrations to address the lingering effects of the algae and vandalism. Trump’s comments underscore his administration’s focus on maintaining national landmarks, though critics have questioned the allocation of resources for the pool’s repeated repairs.
