Reform UK to Ban Foreign Nationals from Welfare in £50bn Plan

Reform UK is set to announce plans to ban all foreign nationals from claiming welfare as part of an overhaul aimed at saving £50 billion a year. The party's Treasury spokesman, Robert Jenrick, will outline the proposals at a press conference this morning.

Key Welfare Changes

The plans would block foreign nationals, including those with EU settled status, from claiming almost all forms of welfare. Additionally, the party intends to abolish personal independence payments (PIP) and the health element of Universal Credit for working-age adults.

Context of Announcement

The press conference comes after Reform leader Nigel Farage won his "people versus the establishment" by-election in Clacton last week. The announcement is expected to build on the party's recent electoral success.
