Prince Harry calls for positive change in new Travalyst video

Prince Harry has appeared in a new video for his non-profit organisation Travalyst, marking London Climate Action Week and calling for positive change in the travel industry. The Duke of Sussex's video comes just hours after his brother, Prince William, made a separate appearance for the same cause, and weeks before Harry's anticipated return to the UK.

Harry's message in the Travalyst video

The short film, produced by Travalyst—a sustainable travel coalition founded by Harry in 2019—urges viewers to recognise that “travel stands at a crossroads.” According to a statement accompanying the release, the film “outlines how Travalyst is working to build something different. From untangling fragmented data into a single source of truth, to driving the industry towards a powerful collective, Travalyst's new film shares how travel can unlock action from travellers, businesses and communities – and the coalition's role in making this happen.”

In the video, Harry says: “Today, travel stands at a crossroads. It could be a catalyst for positive change, but also a source of environmental strain, driving emissions, overwhelming destinations, depleting the natural world it depends on.” He adds that the non-profit is working to “build something different,” describing a shift “from tangled, fragmented data to a single source of truth. From hidden impacts to trusted, transparent choices. From siloed efforts to a powerful collective. From small tweaks to accelerating systems change. From travel stuck in the past to travel that unlocks action from travellers, businesses, and communities. From where we are to where we need to be.”

Harry emphasises that travel has the “power to drive change,” concluding: “Together, we have the power to change travel for good.”

Prince William's Earthshot Prize appearance

On Tuesday, Prince William attended the Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly at Guildhall in central London, where he expressed feeling “more optimistic than ever” about the planet's environmental future. He noted that his Earthshot Prize finalists are making a tangible difference, stating: “Solutions are working. Capital is moving. Policy is shifting.” The address celebrated the impact of prize-winners in helping to “repair” the planet.

William is halfway through his 10-year Earthshot Prize project, which aims to recognise innovative solutions to environmental problems and scale them up. He revealed that Earthshot has supported 75 finalists over the past five years, who have collectively protected and restored 1.4 million square kilometres of land, ocean and coastline, saved 21 million tonnes of water, and removed, upcycled or avoided almost half a million tonnes of waste. The 2026 Earthshot awards will be staged in Mumbai, India, in November, with William viewing the Commonwealth's large youth population as a potential driving force for change.

Harry's upcoming UK return

Prince Harry is set to make a return to the UK next month, reportedly accompanied by his entire family—his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit is to mark the One Year To Go event for the Invictus Games 2027, which will be held in Birmingham.
