Failsworth Stabbing: Four Arrested, Man Critical

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have provided an update on a stabbing in Failsworth that left a man fighting for his life. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred on Hale Lane on Friday, June 20.

Victim in Critical Condition

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6:30 PM following reports of an attack. The victim, a man whose identity has not been released, was found with serious stab wounds and rushed to hospital. A GMP spokesperson confirmed his condition remains critical.

Arrests and Bail

Two men, aged 19 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm at an address on Firdale Road in Moston later that Friday night. A 17-year-old boy surrendered himself at Ashton-under-Lyne police station on Saturday evening and was also arrested. All three were bailed pending further investigation.

On Monday, June 23, a 45-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the stabbing on suspicion of assault and theft. In an update issued on June 25, a GMP spokesperson stated she has also been bailed pending further enquiries.

Investigation Ongoing

Detective Inspector Kelly Paterson, of Oldham CID, said: “We have been working to understand the motive for this attack and our investigation has resulted in the arrest of three people. The investigation will be continuing throughout the weekend and into next week when we will have officers on patrol in both areas and making house-to-house enquiries.”
