Fox News issued a bombshell news alert on Thursday as health concerns surrounding US President Donald Trump continue to mount. The network interrupted its regular programming to broadcast a live update from the 79-year-old leader, who called in to discuss the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Trump's Bold Claims on Iran
During the call, Trump made several provocative statements, confirming that the United States would launch larger and more powerful bombings against Iran later that night. He asserted, "There will be more bombing tonight. It'll be bigger, bigger, more powerful." The President also suggested that the US could deploy a small group of soldiers to Iran and "take over the whole place," though he emphasized his reluctance to have American boots on the ground. "We can walk in there tomorrow. We could take soldiers - I don't want to have boots on the ground - but if I wanted to, we could put a small group of soldiers and take over the whole place," Trump said.
Public Reaction and Criticism
The broadcast quickly drew concern and criticism from viewers. On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), one user described Trump's remarks as "delusional and quite frankly a laughable claim." Another questioned the effectiveness of the military campaign, writing, "That why this quick in and out still dragging on despite Iran’s armed forces were totally obliterated according to the orange meister after about a week of this op fury?"
A third critic fumed, "Trump claiming he could 'take over the whole place' with a small group of soldiers while threatening bigger bombings tonight? Sounds like he's getting played. We need real, experienced diplomats to actually make a deal — not Kushner, Witkoff, and Vance running amateur hour." Others were more blunt, with one person calling Trump "out of his mind" and another labeling him a "bloody idiot."
Mounting Health Fears
The alarming update comes amid growing concerns over Trump's physical and mental health. The President was seen falling asleep during the NBA finals on Monday, where his appearance was met with loud boos from the crowd. In a press conference, Congressman Ted Lieu called for greater transparency from the White House, demanding explanations for Trump's repeated hospital visits and cognitive testing.
Lieu stated, "The President of the United States is not well. We can see it with our own eyes: he has tremendous difficulty staying awake on the job. Donald Trump has repeatedly fallen asleep at multiple cabinet meetings, at multiple White House events, at a Memorial Day ceremony, and most recently at a very loud and raucous New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs game last night. The White House needs to come clean to American people; they need to explain why Donald Trump keeps going to the hospital and why they keep giving him cognitive tests. The American people deserve the truth."
