A Manchester vlogger has shared a cautionary tale after her gruelling hike on Mount Snowdon in North Wales. Aisha, from Manchester, previously made the trip to North Wales to take on the climb, but came away profoundly underwhelmed by the whole experience.

The vlogger, who boasts more than 60,000 followers on TikTok, described her video as a warning "not to go hiking", suggesting she wouldn't be making another attempt following her Welsh escapade.

She'd set off to conquer Yr Wyddfa for enjoyment, but her expedition turned out to be far from pleasurable. Over the footage, she wrote: "Let's go to Snowdon for a hike', he said. 'It'll be fun', he said."

The clip then shows Aisha making her way up the mountain in shorts, battling fierce wind and rain, and plenty of others have likewise shared how the ascent has left them rather shell-shocked, reports North Wales Live.

What may surprise many is Aisha's claim that the view from the top is "definitely not worth it". Despite the beauty Wales has to offer, it seems some believe the effort required to witness the stunning scenery can simply prove too demanding.

A third said: "Haha, I was literally crying, having a panic attack to turn back when I hiked with my boyfriend. He hated me." Meanwhile, a fourth asked: "How long did it take you to complete? My husband and I are doing it on Saturday."

In the comments, Aisha revealed the journey took them five hours in total, acknowledging they were eager to "get out of there ASAP". She noted that some hikers can take up to eight hours to complete the route, depending on how much time they spend at the top and during rest breaks.

Aisha suggested: "You should definitely go. Just mentally prepare - it's painful." Others likewise recognised the difficulty of the ascent, although many clearly value the stunning views on offer.

How popular is Yr Wyddfa?

Yr Wyddfa is situated in North Wales. At 1,085 metres above sea level, it is Wales's loftiest mountain and the highest point in the British Isles south of the Scottish Highlands.

At peak times, including summer weekends, queues have occasionally formed at the top of Yr Wyddfa for the summit pillar. This usually happens at the steps approaching the trig point; nevertheless, it is entirely feasible to enjoy the summit area without waiting in line.
