Take That Follows Harry Styles' Lead with Heatwave Stadium Rule Change
Take That Follows Harry Styles with Heatwave Stadium Rule Change

Take That is set to follow the example set by Harry Styles' Wembley gigs for their own concerts during the heatwave gripping the UK. Temperature records have been broken, commuters have faced public transport chaos, and a hosepipe ban is in effect in Kent. A red weather warning remains in place for London through Friday, as the pop trio prepares to take the stage at London Stadium for three nights, marking the return of their 2009 show, The Circus Live!.

New Guidelines for Fan Safety

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen will perform at the east London venue with The Script and Belinda Carlisle as special guests. However, the stadium has introduced new guidelines to ensure fan safety amid extreme temperatures. The price of water inside the venue will be slashed in half, and attendees are permitted to bring reusable water bottles, including metal ones, as well as plastic soft drink and water bottles with the tops off. Glass and cans remain prohibited. Multiple water stations will be available throughout the stadium, with a list of refill stations on the stadium website. Smart Water bottles on sale inside will be marked down by 50 per cent 'to support guest safety and enhance the overall experience,' according to a stadium statement.

Concert Timings and Advice

The stadium statement read: 'We are closely monitoring the forecast for our shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and have measures in place to support the safety and well-being of all attendees.' Fans are advised not to camp outside the stadium or within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, as this is against local bylaws and can be unsafe in high temperatures. The stadium has also urged concertgoers to dress appropriately, bring sun protection and water, and seek shade under trees and planting if arriving early.

Following Harry Styles' Lead

This move comes after Wembley Stadium announced a similar rule change this week to accommodate Harry Styles fans and their extensive sequin attire. Organisers explained that empty soft-plastic bottles, with tops off, are fine to bring into the stadium, and they will offer free sun cream to prevent burning. Take That's concerts are scheduled to start with doors opening at 3pm, Belinda Carlisle on stage at 6.30pm, The Script at 7.20pm, and Take That at 8.30pm, with an expected end time of 10.30pm. All times are subject to change.
