Saundersfoot, named the best seaside town in the UK by Time Out in April 2026, will host a new free festival on July 11. Saundersfoot SeaFest runs from 10am to 5pm around the harbour, beach, and Regency Hall, offering a packed timetable of chef demonstrations, circus skills, pirate fancy dress, and sea activities like kayaking and paddleboarding.
What to Expect at SeaFest
The family-focused coastal event is designed to connect people of all ages with seaweed, local food culture, and marine sustainability. Visitors can enjoy free drop-in and bookable activities, workshops, and subsidised water sports sessions. Local traders will offer artisan gifts, handcrafted jewellery, seaweed products, and sustainable goods. Hands-on arts and crafts are also available.
Chef Sam Everton, Wales’s National Chef of the Year 2025, and local foraging expert Craig Evans will give demonstrations. Local restaurants will feature seafood specials cooked with Câr y Môr seaweed on their menus for the weekend.
Community and Sustainability Focus
Donna Page, Regenerative Ocean Farming Development Officer at Pobl Tir Môr, said: "It’s wonderful to help organise an event of this kind, bringing together many parts of the community and providing something new for Saundersfoot. SeaFest reflects what we’re passionate about at Pobl Tir Môr – connecting people with nature, celebrating our coastline and showing how sustainable choices can become part of everyday life."
SeaFest is part of the wider Wales Festival of Seaweed, which takes place in St Davids from September 10-13. Both events aim to become regular fixtures in Pembrokeshire’s calendar, celebrating Wales’s marine potential and the organisations working sustainably in coastal and seafood industries.
Saundersfoot: Best Seaside Town
In April 2026, Time Out named Saundersfoot the best seaside town in the UK, praising its "most gorgeous beach of any British seaside resort" and "exceptional views." The Pembrokeshire town topped the list of 16 best UK seaside towns to visit in 2026.
