Around 150 dogs will be taking over a city centre bar this June as the popular Pup Up Cafe makes a return. Revolution, on the corner of Collingwood Street, has held day-long Pup Up events before, with breeds of all types enjoying an opportunity for some socialising along with treats, toys to play with and competitions.
Previous Successes
The events have included the likes of a Dashing Dachshund Tour, attended by more than 200 sausage dogs who rollicked in ball pits and posed in photo booths, as well as a Valentine-theme party which offered various session times for different breeds to mingle in a safe staffed space with supervised 'off-lead' time.
Summer Gathering Details
Revolution is to host a summer-theme gathering on June 28 where local dogs and their owners can soak up tropical vibes. There will be dedicated breed sessions: a 10am group specifically for Dachshunds and Dachshund crosses, followed by one for Pugs and Pug crosses, and then all breeds, including any friendly dog, can enjoy a 4pm slot.
The Pup Up Cafe has been visiting Newcastle for over five years and its events have become hugely popular. Owners are assured of a secure environment for their pets to play off-lead. The events include a doggy treat bar, ball pits, play tunnels, and summer-theme backdrops for photo opportunities.
Local dog businesses and stalls will provide unique dog accessories and products. Ellie Wallace, operations manager at the Pup Up Cafe, said: "Newcastle has always been one of our favourite cities to visit and the local dog community here is incredible. We're really excited to bring our summer theme to Revolution this June. It's the perfect opportunity for dogs to socialise safely and for owners to meet like-minded people."
Tickets are available now for the various sessions on June 28, with limited spaces.
Other Dog Events
Dog owners looking for more summer treats might like to know that the day-long celebration Dog on the Tyne will return on August 1, and later that month (August 22-23), the North East Dog Festival will take place in Northumberland. For those wanting to spend even more time with their four-legged friends, dog-friendly hotels and holiday parks are available, and one spot in Northumberland was recently named one of the best holiday spots in the UK by dog owners.
