Clare Adamson, MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw, has praised the continued success of the North Lanarkshire Recovery Cup after attending this year's event at the Hamilton Community Stadium.
Event Brings Together Recovery Organisations
The Recovery Cup brings together recovery organisations, support services, partners and local communities for a day of football, friendship and celebration, while raising awareness of the importance of supporting people on their recovery journey and challenging the stigma surrounding addiction.
First established in 2022, the annual tournament has gone from strength to strength, highlighting the positive impact that community, connection and peer support can have in helping people build and sustain recovery.
Support from Key Organisations
This year's event was supported by a range of organisations from across the recovery sector, including Turning Point Scotland, North Lanarkshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership, South Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership, Liber8 Ltd, Blue Triangle, Phoenix Futures and the North Lanarkshire Recovery Community.
Clare Adamson, MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw, was on hand and said afterwards: "It was fantastic to attend the North Lanarkshire Recovery Cup once again and to see so many people coming together to celebrate recovery, community and hope."
More Than Just Football
"The Recovery Cup is about much more than football. It provides an opportunity to bring organisations, partners and local communities together to raise awareness, challenge stigma and demonstrate that no one has to face addiction alone.
