The United States is preparing to host their 2026 World Cup opener against Paraguay, with FIFA delivering a star-studded opening ceremony headlined by Katy Perry. The Group D clash will be preceded by a spectacular show featuring pop superstar Katy Perry and rap icon Future.

The ceremony will also include Brazilian singer Anitta, BLACKPINK's LISA, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema, and South African chart-topper Tyla. The event will take place at Los Angeles Stadium.

British fans can catch the ceremony from 12:30am BST on BBC iPlayer, with the match kicking off at 2am BST on Saturday, 13 June. The show will feature large-scale visuals and immersive storytelling, produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio.

President Donald Trump is not expected to attend the opener, though Rudy Giuliani hinted he could play a role later in the tournament. The ceremony marks the final part of FIFA's unprecedented three-country opening celebrations, following events in Mexico City and Toronto.
