Woman Says Fairy Magic Keeps Her Youthful at 62

Karen Kay, 62, from Truro, says fairies have kept her looking youthful for decades. She has been communicating with them since she was four years old, and credits their playful magic for her youthful appearance.

Fairies as Guardians of Nature

Karen describes fairies as tiny flashing lights that deliver messages. "If I see one around someone's throat, it usually means they have something significant to say," she said. She also sees other elemental beings, including centaurs, mermaids, pixies, elves, gnomes, dryads, naiads, and unicorns. She moved to Cornwall 40 years ago and believes the county is rich in magical energy.

From Rose Water to Fairy Festival

As a child, Karen would collect rose petals from her grandmother Chris's garden and make rose water. She left a bowl of it between her nan's garage and the neighbor's garage. "The next day it was always gone. I knew the fairies had accepted and were pleased by my little offering," she recalled. Despite a teenage phase of questioning her visions, an eye test confirmed she had perfect 20/20 vision, reinforcing her belief.

A Message That Changed Everything

In 2005, Karen received a strong telepathic message from the fairies. "They said: 'You must organise a festival. It must be in Cornwall. It must take place at midsummer. And you must tell everybody,'" she said. She held the first Three Wishes Fairy Festival at Colliford Lake Park, beside Dozmary Pool, where Arthurian legend says the Lady of the Lake lived. The festival has since moved to Glastonbury and is still running more than two decades later.

Daily Routine and Youthful Glow

Karen's daily routine includes a morning walk in nature, consulting her Enchanted Realms Oracle Cards, and dressing in wings, tutus, and flower crowns. She also credits fairies with her youthful appearance: "Lots of people say I look younger than my years and I think that's because of their playful magic - and my plant-based diet." She has never had Botox or fillers.

Acceptance and Community

Karen knows her beliefs are not for everyone, but her friends and family accept them. She recently discovered her grandmother also believed in fairies. "People who believe in fairies often feel a bit different or like the odd one out. When we meet others who think the same way, we form really beautiful friendships and bonds that last a lifetime," she said.
