The Crow Girl season two has arrived on Paramount Plus, bringing back the psychological thriller's main cast alongside new characters. The series picks up immediately after the season one finale, with DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles) in bed with Dr Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly), whose disturbing secret was exposed.
Main Cast Returns for Season 2
Welsh actress Eve Myles reprises her role as DCI Jeanette Kilburn. Known for starring as Faith Howells in Keeping Faith, Gwen Cooper in Torchwood, and Ceri Lewis in Belonging, Myles also recently played DS Annie Cassidy in ITV drama Gone with David Morrissey. In season two, Jeanette delves into the disturbing murders of young male asylum seekers after her marriage ended in the first season.
Katherine Kelly returns as Dr Sophia Craven, revealed in season one to be the unstable murder suspect Victoria Burkeman, suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Sophia is unaware that she is also the vengeful killer. Kelly rose to fame as Becky Granger in Coronation Street, Lady Mae Loxley in Mr Selfridge, and DI Jodie Shackleton in Happy Valley.
Supporting Cast and New Faces
Scottish actor Dougray Scott is back as DI Lou Stanley, Jeanette's right-hand man who takes on the “bad cop” role. Scott has starred in Summerwater, The Hack, Vigil, Crookhaven, and Crime. DC Mike Dilliston, played by Elliot Edusah, returns as the diligent rookie now expected to show more confidence. Edusah is relatively new to acting, with credits including Small Axe, Pirates, Django, and Hart Truths.
Victoria Hamilton plays Superintendent Verity Pound, the senior police officer overseeing detectives Kilburn, Stanley, and Dilliston. Hamilton is known for roles in Doctor Foster, The Crown, Mansfield Park, Unforgotten, Slow Horses, and The Teacher.
Dutch actress Clara Rugaard portrays the younger version of Victoria and Sophia. Victoria is the mysterious unstable patient of Dr Craven who believes she is behind murders, unaware she is actually Victoria—the secret other personality seeking revenge on abusers. Rugaard has appeared in Black Mirror, The Shift, and The Rising.
Season 2 Premiere Date
The Crow Girl season two premieres on Monday, July 20, on Paramount Plus. According to the show's trailer, the new season promises “new victims and new secrets.”
