Quentin Tarantino's debut play is expected to launch in London's West End in early 2027, according to sources. The Oscar-winning filmmaker revealed last summer that he had completed the script and planned to begin preparations in January, with the project likely to take up to two years of his life.
The play is described as an 'old-fashioned British farce' in the style of Michael Frayn's 1980 classic Noises Off, focusing on physical comedy. Tarantino has written the script and will also direct. Casting details have not yet been announced.
This marks a shift from Tarantino's earlier plans to make a film titled The Movie Critic as his final feature, which he scrapped in spring 2024. He has committed to directing ten films in his career and is still considering what his tenth and supposedly final picture will be.
Meanwhile, Tarantino's scripted film The Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher, is set to launch on Netflix later this year, with speculation it may premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Tarantino also recently took on his biggest acting role in decades in the drama Only What We Carry.
