A Scottish holidaymaker has captured the moment over 40 tourists engaged in a 'manic' race for sunbeds at a hotel pool in Salou, Spain. Chris, 34, from Glasgow, filmed the scene on June 24, where guests who had queued for an hour rushed to secure loungers with towels and bags before heading back inside for breakfast.
Daily ritual observed
Chris noticed the queue forming at the doors every morning of his week-long stay. The pool opened at 9am, prompting a stampede of sunseekers. 'It was a manic race and scramble for the sunbeds surrounding the pool at the hotel,' he said. 'Some people just rolled out their bed, queued up, mad dashed to secure the bed then they were seen going back to their hotel rooms or off for breakfast.'
Unfair system
While Chris found the spectacle amusing, he noted the unfairness for other guests. 'It doesn't leave room for those who don't queue for an hour,' he added. The video shows a 40-strong mob sprinting to claim spots, leaving many without a sunbed for the day. The footage has sparked debate online about sunbed etiquette at holiday resorts.
