Channel 5 has confirmed that the thriller series Lie With Me, starring former EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks, will replace the recently concluded drama Riptide in the primetime slot. The announcement comes as Riptide airs its fourth and final episode tonight, Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Riptide Finale Airs Tonight
Riptide, a four-part thriller first broadcast in 2022, stars Jo Joyner as Alison Weston, a woman whose husband vanishes after a morning surf in Australia. The series explores whether Sean was swept away by a dangerous riptide or if something more sinister is at play. The cast also includes Ciarán Griffiths, Peter O'Brien, and David Berry. The repeat run has aired all episodes across successive evenings this week.
Lie With Me Takes Over from July 6
Beginning Monday, July 6, Lie With Me will air across four consecutive evenings. The drama originally aired in 2021 and is now being repeated. Charlie Brooks plays Anna, a British woman seeking a fresh start for her marriage in Australia with her husband Jake and their two young children. They hire a local nanny, Becky, who hides dark secrets.
According to the official synopsis: "Seeking a fresh start for their marriage, British woman Anna and her Australian husband, Jake, move to Melbourne with their two small children. With Anna resuming her career, they hire a young live-in nanny to help, but local girl Becky is anything but the innocent stranger she pretends to be."
Lie With Me also features Neighbours actor Brett Tucker as Jake, alongside Caroline Gillmer, Alfie Gledhill, Isabella Giovinazzo, and Nadine Garner.
