Jamie Redknapp Reveals Teammates Mock Him Over Divorce on A League Of Their Own

Jamie Redknapp has admitted that his co-stars on the Sky One show A League Of Their Own still mock him over his divorce from Louise Redknapp. The former footballer, who split from Louise in 2016 after 18 years of marriage, said James Corden, Freddie Flintoff and Jack Whitehall frequently tease him about the so-called 'Strictly Curse'.

In his first interview touching on the divorce, Redknapp told the Sunday Independent that he is accustomed to the banter, having spent years in football dressing rooms. 'Of course, Freddie and I get some stick but there's nobody who gives it and can't take it,' he said. 'I've been in football dressing-rooms since I was 11 years of age and there was always a lot of slagging.'

The couple's separation coincided with Louise's appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Kevin Clifton, though she denied any impropriety. Redknapp recently unfollowed his ex-wife on Instagram and is rumoured to have moved on with Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie.

Redknapp also spoke about the impact of the coronavirus lockdown on his two sons, Beau, 11, and Charley, 16. Beau has been living with his father in Surrey while Charley stayed with Louise, and the separation has been difficult. 'My kids make me emotional. Watching them grow up and be such good kids, that's everything to me,' he said. He expressed relief that they returned to school, noting the importance of structure after six months off.
