What Is Platform 7 About?
The drama follows central character Lisa, played by Jasmine Jobson, who witnesses a cataclysmic event on platform seven of a railway station. As her fragmented memory resurfaces, she discovers a connection between her own life and the event. The synopsis describes it as a 'haunting thriller' that blends supernatural elements with contemporary realism.
Adapted from Louise Doughty's 2019 novel of the same title, the screenplay was written by Paula Milne. Milne explained that it is 'no traditional spooky ghost story' but rather 'the tale of a ghost on a quest to discover who she was and the events that led to her untimely death.' She added: 'Her story is a celebration of indignation versus passivity and truth versus lies.'
