Oasis are reportedly planning a blockbuster 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium as part of a major new tour expected to be announced within weeks, according to multiple sources.
Etihad Stadium Homecoming
The Etihad Stadium, home of Liam and Noel Gallagher's beloved Manchester City, is set to host the band for an epic 2027 homecoming following their record-shattering Oasis Live '25 reunion tour. The news marks exactly one year since the band's unforgettable opening night in Cardiff on July 4, 2025.
Additional dates are expected to be confirmed, with speculation mounting over a return to Knebworth. Bookmakers are already suggesting it is highly likely the band will perform at Glastonbury next year.
Stadium Preparations
The Etihad Stadium welcomed back live music this summer after a three-year hiatus while construction work to expand the North Stand was completed. It served as a backdrop for two major artists this year, with The Weeknd and Take That performing to tens of thousands of fans in June and July. Now, officials are preparing for an even bigger 2027 with Oasis performing on the sacred turf of the Blues.
Manchester City's 2026/27 fixture list sees their final home match scheduled for Saturday, May 23 against Aston Villa, while the last day of the Premier League season falls on Sunday, May 30, with City travelling to Sunderland. This leaves a window for concerts in late May and June.
Tour Details and Fan Frenzy
According to several sources close to the club and promoters, 12 nights could be confirmed later this summer. The announcement is expected to trigger an enormous scramble among fans desperate to secure tickets. A music industry insider told the Manchester Evening News: "It will be 12 nights at the Etihad Stadium across May and June. It's just massive for Manchester and for the local economy."
The insider added: "They could even add more dates to that as well; there's talk of up to 20. The wider tour is also going to include a return to Knebworth."
A luxury city centre hotel has reportedly been fully booked from the end of May through June to accommodate the band and their touring entourage, lending further weight to the suggestion that dates spanning May and June have already been secured.
Anniversary and Social Media Hints
This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of Oasis' triumphant return to the live stage. On Friday, July 4, 2025, they delivered a spine-tingling opening night of their world tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
On Friday morning, Liam Gallagher stoked speculation further when he jovially responded to supporters with football banter surrounding the England v Mexico match. He replied to a fan: "You say that now but soon as we announce the gig nxt wk I mean nxt year I mean happy Christmas you'll be running around like headless chickens trying to get a ticket so stop acting tuff."
This prompted numerous fans to speculate that an announcement could be imminent as early as next week. Rumours have been swirling for some time that the new tour will be revealed in September, dovetailing neatly with the film premiere on September 11.
