Martin Clunes Swears on The One Show, Kemp Apologises

Martin Clunes caused chaos on The One Show on Thursday, June 25, when he used profanity live on air. Host Roman Kemp quickly apologised to viewers after the actor dropped an expletive while discussing the American adaptation of Doc Martin.

How the Incident Unfolded

Roman Kemp and Alex Jones were hosting the BBC programme, joined by guests Kate Humble, Ben Fogle, and Martin Clunes. The conversation turned to the US remake of Doc Martin, starring Josh Charles. After watching a preview clip, Clunes was asked about Charles's portrayal of the grumpy doctor.

Clunes responded: "He's completely done his own thing, much nicer than me, less awkward and abrasive... he's warm and better-looking." He then reacted to a scene from the preview, saying: "I was just looking at that bit... they wouldn't let me call the dog the son of a b***h, which I thought was funny."

Kemp's Apology and Jones's Reaction

As the studio laughed, Kemp interjected: "I have to apologise quickly." Alex Jones playfully scolded Clunes, remarking: "You've been on a hundred times!" Clunes then turned to Ben Fogle, arguing: "He's a vet... it's a female dog!"

Future of Doc Martin and US Remake

Clunes also revealed that the original series is continuing: "They're going again, they're doing another series." The US remake, titled Best Medicine, stars Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, a surgeon who moves from Boston to a small coastal town in Maine. The show is described as a heartwarming comedy-drama about a physician seeking a quiet life but struggling with his introverted nature and a blood phobia.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
