Light in the Hall Season 2 Casts Line of Duty and Chernobyl Stars

The Light in the Hall is back for its second season, titled Still Waters, featuring an almost entirely new star-studded cast. The series, known in Wales as Y Golau, returns to Channel 4 after more than three years, following a mother's grief over her daughter's murder in season one. This time, the story unfolds in the fictional Welsh town of Llanemlyn with a fresh cast, except for one returning character.

Caryl - Sian Reese-Williams

Caryl Huws returns from season one, now an aspiring journalist. Played by Sian Reese-Williams, known for her role as Gennie Walker in ITV's Emmerdale (2008-2013), she has also appeared in Hidden, Wolf, Line of Duty, and Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards.

Rhys Owen - Mark Lewis Jones

Rhys served 20 years in prison for the death of his activist cousin Llyr in a 1995 bombing, maintaining his innocence. After release, he returns to his hometown amid a new reservoir expansion protest. Mark Lewis Jones, who plays Rhys, has appeared in Keeping Faith, Chernobyl, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Crown, Baby Reindeer, and Gangs of London.

Eve Davies - Nia Roberts

Eve is Caryl's journalism tutor, encouraging her to pursue a meaningful story. She was in a relationship with Llyr and shares a child with him. Nia Roberts has appeared in Bang, Hidden, and Yr Amgueddfa.

Robert Davies - Robert Glenister

Robert is head of Greenforge, the company behind the reservoir expansion, and Eve's father. Robert Glenister is known for Hustle, Spooks, and Sherwood. He is the brother of actor Philip Glenister.

Mabli Davies Owen - Maeve Courtier-Lilley

Mabli, Eve's daughter and Robert's granddaughter, is involved in protests against the dam. Maeve Courtier-Lilley has appeared in The Red King, The Outpost, Champagne Problems, and Netflix's Run Away.

Harri Breckon - Tom Rhys Harries

Harri is Mabli's friend and environmental campaigner. Tom Rhys Harries has roles in Unforgotten, Suspicion, White Lines, and The Gentlemen. He will play Matt Hagen in the upcoming DC film Clayface.

Gareth Breckon - Matthew Gravelle

Gareth is Harri's father, caught in community and family divisions over the dam. Matthew Gravelle is best known for playing Joe Miller in ITV's Broadchurch, with other roles in The Bible, The Archers, Mudtown, and Itopia.
