Jesy Nelson has set the record straight on speculation that she is poised to join ITV's The Only Way is Essex. The former Little Mix singer, 35, responded to reports that she was in advanced talks to join the reality show, calling the rumors unfounded.
Jesy Nelson Quashes TOWIE Rumors
Posting on Instagram, the mother-of-two declared: "Well this is the first I'm hearing of this." She proceeded to confirm the only accurate element behind the speculation, stating: "I can confirm I am defo not joining the cast of Towie. I just like to watch it."
The rumors had emerged from a source allegedly telling The Sun that Jesy was in "advanced talks" to join the programme. The tabloid disclosed that "a well-placed insider" claimed: "It's a total natural fit. Jesy is from Essex and knows a lot of the cast anyway so it's not going to feel forced. She's been talking a lot to Lauren and Amy Childs in particular so it's likely she'll be a part of their glam mums group."
Supporters had been left puzzled about how Jesy would slot into the programme, considering she uprooted her entire existence and relocated to Cornwall to give twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story a more peaceful upbringing.
Upcoming Documentary on Twins' Diagnosis
Jesy has recently allowed cameras to document her journey for an exclusive Prime Video docuseries called Life After Little Mix. She also has a brand new documentary, titled Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, which is due to hit screens on July 17.
The first-time mother recently disclosed that the two little girls have been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (also known as SMA Type 1). The uncommon condition leads to progressive muscle weakness. The diagnosis transformed Jesy's world, and she is preparing to share the day-to-day realities of bringing up her daughters in a new "raw and powerful" documentary.
Documentary Synopsis and Campaign
A synopsis for the upcoming film reveals: "This raw and powerful documentary follows Jesy as she comes to terms with what the diagnosis means for her girls, adapts to the everyday challenges of their conditions, and finds her footing as a single mother after the break up of her relationship. But this is far more than a personal story."
It continues: "Jesy channels her experience into a campaign to change how the UK screens newborns for the disease. It's a portrait of motherhood, resilience and the fierce determination that comes from knowing that a simple change in the system can save lives."
Jesy Nelson: Life Changing premieres on Prime Video on July 17th.
