Global tour comes to Liverpool

The play is described as "a journey through an old man's life, filled with hilarious memories and hopes for the future, coupled with the mourning of lost love and unfulfilled ambition". It is touring globally throughout 2026 and 2027.

On social media, the Epstein Theatre team said: "Remember Rizzo from Grease? Academy Award-nominated actress Stockard Channing is bringing her directorial vision to the Epstein Theatre with Samuel Beckett’s iconic Krapp’s Last Tape."

Theatre's historic venue

Originally built in 1913 as the Crane Hall, the Epstein Theatre was designed as a concert hall above a music shop before becoming a fully equipped theatre. Saved from closure by Liverpool Corporation in the 1960s, it underwent a £1m refurbishment in 2011 and was renamed in honour of Beatles manager Brian Epstein.

The performance begins at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 9. Tickets can be booked via the theatre's website.
