Kelsey Grammer Hails Trump as 'Greatest President' at Kennedy Center Honors
Grammer's Trump Praise at Kennedy Center Honors

Veteran actor Kelsey Grammer has sparked headlines after delivering effusive praise for President Donald Trump, describing him as potentially 'the greatest' president in US history. The Emmy-winning star made the remarks ahead of his attendance at the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC on Sunday.

Grammer's Glowing Presidential Endorsement

The 70-year-old actor, famed for his role as Dr. Frasier Crane, made his comments during an interview with Fox News Digital at a State Department dinner on Saturday. 'He's one of the greatest presidents we've ever had; maybe the greatest,' Grammer stated. He elaborated, calling President Trump 'extraordinary' and expressing encouragement over the achievements made during the first year of Trump's second term in the Oval Office.

Grammer acknowledged the challenging political landscape, noting 'there was a big hill to climb' for Trump following the four-year administration of former President Joe Biden. As one of Hollywood's most prominent conservative voices, Grammer suggested the country was left with 'some very interesting things going on' as Trump commenced his second term after defeating former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

A Star-Studded Evening in the Capital

On Sunday, the actor walked the red carpet at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with his 13-year-old daughter, Faith. Grammer cut a classic figure in a black tuxedo, while his daughter wore a floral silk dress for the high-profile event, which was hosted by President Trump himself.

The ceremony also honoured action icon Sylvester Stallone, a selection Grammer was privy to as a member of the committee. 'It's about time,' Grammer remarked, calling Stallone a 'force of nature' who has 'captured our imagination in several different roles.'

A History of Support and Controversy

This is not the first time Grammer has publicly backed the 45th president. In a 2019 interview with PBS, he praised Trump as a disruptive force in a political system he criticised, saying, 'I don’t think Washington did us any favors for the last 50, 60 years.' He downplayed the intense anti-Trump sentiment in Hollywood at the time, questioning whether the situation was as severe as many claimed.

President Trump, who announced his hosting role this past summer, confidently predicted the broadcast would be a ratings success. 'This will be the highest-rated show that they've ever done,' he declared at an August State Department dinner. The televised special of the Kennedy Center Honors is scheduled to air on December 23 on CBS and Paramount+.
