Emmerdale stars Matthew Wolfenden and Roxy Shahidi suffered staggering financial losses on a repeated episode of BBC's Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, originally broadcast in 2024. The duo searched the Yorkshire Dales for antique treasures with experts Hettie Jago and Steven Moore, hoping to turn a profit at auction.
Disastrous Auction Results
Matthew's vintage stereoscope, purchased for £20, sold for just £7. Roxy's Derbyshire pietra dura paperweight, bought for £15, fetched only £14. Expert Steven Moore had declared, "If this doesn't make a profit we were robbed because that's worth at least £100." After the sale, he confessed, "I need therapy."
Matthew's Art Deco rouge pot, bought for £90, opened at £10 and sold for £16, prompting Matthew to gasp, "oh no," and later exclaim, "I'm gobsmacked!" Hettie Jago was left open-mouthed. Roxy's final item, a magic lantern costing £236, sold for a mere £30, causing Matthew to chuckle as Hettie apologized.
Final Tally and Victory
Roxy and Steven ended with a loss of £284.38, while Matthew and Hettie incurred a smaller loss of £225.46, crowning them victors. A triumphant Matthew teased Roxy, "Can you see the smile on my face?" Roxy replied, "Yeah I can see it." Matthew added, "Why's that?" Roxy gritted her teeth and said, "That's because you won..." as Matthew erupted in celebration.
