Emmerdale Star Roxy Shahidi Left in Shock After Huge Auction Loss on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip
Emmerdale Star's Huge Auction Loss on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip

An Emmerdale star was left devastated after an item she expected to fetch a fair amount sold for far less on a repeat episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. The episode, first aired in 2024, featured Matthew Wolfenden, who played Davide Metcalfe on the soap, and Roxy Shahidi, known for her role as Leyla Harding, as they scoured the Yorkshire Dales for antique treasures with the help of experts Hettie Jago and Steven Moore.

Disappointing Auction Results

After forking out cash for several items, the auction didn't go to plan for either star. Matthew's vintage stereoscope, which he paid £20 for, sold for just £7. Roxy's Derbyshire pietra dura paperweight, purchased for £15, was expected to be worth at least £100 according to Steven Moore. However, it sold for only £14. A gutted Steven admitted, “I need therapy,” while Roxy looked on in shock.

Further Losses Mount

Things went from bad to worse when Matthew's Art Deco rouge pot, bought for £90, started bidding at £10. Matthew gasped “oh no,” and it eventually sold for just £16. Hettie Jago covered her mouth in shock as Matthew said, “I’m gobsmacked!” Roxy's final item, a magic lantern costing £236, sold for only £30. Matthew playfully took a swipe at his former co-star, giggling as Hettie told Roxy, “I’m so sorry.”

Final Tally and Reactions

At the end of the auction, Roxy and Steven made a loss of £284.38, while Matthew and Hettie, despite a smaller loss of £225.46, were declared the winners. A smug Matthew told Roxy, “Can you see the smile on my face?” Roxy replied through gritted teeth, “Yeah I can see it.” When Matthew asked, “Why’s that?” she responded, “That’s because you won…” as Matthew cheered with excitement.
