Emmerdale is set for explosive scenes next week as Mack Boyd's next move unfolds following the dramatic Dr Todd flashforward. The ITV soap has left viewers gripped after a chilling preview showed police at a crime scene with Dr Todd's lifeless, blood-covered body.
Flashforward Fallout
Viewers will recall that Dr Todd sexually assaulted Charity Dingle after weeks of blackmailing her over the real parentage of baby Leyla. Charity had been struggling alone after reporting Dr Todd to the police, but recently bravely opened up to husband Mack about everything.
In episodes this week, which featured a schedule shake-up due to the FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage, Mack confronted Dr Todd at her new hospital in Sheffield. During the showdown, Dr Todd denied the claims, asserting her encounter with Charity was intimate but not assault, and attempted to convince Mack with persistent lies and a seemingly apologetic facade.
A furious Mack shut down Dr Todd, vowing to see her imprisoned for the rape of his wife. When security arrived, Todd remained smug, prompting Mack to deliver a final threat: he promised to kill Todd if she ever touched Charity again. The episode ended with a flashforward revealing police taking evidence pictures of a lifeless body covered in blood, confirmed as Dr Todd.

Since the episode and showdown, DS Reid, played by Angela Lonsdale, visited Mack and Charity, revealing Dr Todd had reported Mack's threats to the police. Now, spoilers for next week reveal what happens next amid the explosive storyline.
In upcoming scenes, Mack gets honest with Charity, unable to see a way back from her deception and lies over the past few months. Soap watchers will recall that Charity acted as a surrogate for granddaughter Sarah Sugden and Sarah's husband Jacob.
