Sadie King and Kev Townsend to Return
Emmerdale is set for a dramatic 2026 with the return of iconic baddies Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) and Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill). Producer Laura Shaw confirmed Sadie's return will be explosive and guaranteed to shock. Kev's comeback also promises trouble.
New Arrival: Serena Sugden
Newcomer Serena Sugden, played by Casey Al-Shaqsy, arrives this week to strengthen the Sugden clan. Casey describes Serena as loud and outspoken, with elements of both good and bad.
Departures: Dawn Taylor, Jimmy King, Vinny Dingle, Dr Caitlin Todd
Olivia Bromley exits as Dawn Taylor after eight years, part of ITV cost-cutting. Jimmy King (Nick Miles) departs after 22 years, with Sadie's return playing into his exit this autumn. Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) leaves after seven years, also due to budget cuts. Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) exits following a dark blackmail and sexual assault storyline.
Temporary Returns: Cathy Hope, Victoria Sugden, Tracy Shankley
Gabrielle Dowling (Cathy Hope) is on a short break and will return. Isabel Hodgins (Victoria Sugden) and Amy Walsh (Tracy Shankley) are on maternity leave and expected back.
