Dumped Love Islander Carlos fumes 'I didn't deserve that'

Dumped Love Islander Carlos has spoken out about a "bitter pill to swallow" after Priya chose newcomer Jordon Wilson over him during the dramatic Casa Amor recoupling. The five Islanders forced to leave the villa were Will, Carlos, Aaron, Olivia, and Nevaeh, who were not picked by their fellow contestants.

Carlos blindsided by Priya's choice

Speaking to ITV after his departure, Carlos admitted he was shocked by the outcome. "It feels tough because you want to go in there, find a connection and have an amazing experience," he said. "I did, don't get me wrong, but it's hard because I thought I had a good connection with Priya, and that we were getting on really well."

He added that the other Islanders had reassured him he was Priya's number one. "From the chats I was having with the boys and the girls, they were reassuring me all the time that I was her number one and she felt the most comfortable with me. So I was very confident that I was going to get picked. It's definitely a bitter pill to swallow because I didn't expect it. It's still quite a shock, to be honest."

Carlos closes chapter with Priya

Carlos stated that his "chapter with Priya is closed" and expressed frustration at being treated as a second option. "She had her chance and I don't really want to be a second option. I don't feel like I deserve that. I opened up to her which is quite hard for me to do. Also the person she chose, she isn't even their number one."

He criticized Priya's decision, saying, "We'll see what happens with that, but she's not made the right decision if I'm honest." Carlos also revealed regret over not pursuing Angelista more, as he had focused on Priya instead.

Casa Amor recoupling chaos

The recoupling ceremony on Wednesday evening (July 1) saw Islanders decide whether to stick with their current partners or choose a newcomer. Two girls were left single, and Angelista was seen holding back tears as Simba explained his actions in Casa Amor. The five newcomers—Will, Carlos, Aaron, Olivia, and Nevaeh—were not selected and were eliminated from the island.

Priya, who also had interest from Jordon and Carlos, confessed that choosing Jordon was the best decision for her, despite potentially entering another love triangle. Love Island airs Friday to Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
