Craig Revel Horwood to star in Sister Act UK tour

Craig Revel Horwood, the longest-serving judge on Strictly Come Dancing, is set to return to the stage in a UK and Ireland tour of the musical Sister Act. The 61-year-old, who has appeared on the ballroom competition show since 2004, will take on the role of Mother Superior in a new production of the show, based on the 1992 film directed by Emile Ardolino.

Revel Horwood to Play Mother Superior

Revel Horwood previously directed and choreographed the UK tour of Sister Act in 2015. This time, he will perform as Mother Superior, a part made famous by the late Dame Maggie Smith in the original film. He will be joined by comedian Paul Chuckle, 79, who will portray Monsignor O'Hara.

Cast and Tour Dates

The musical follows lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier, who is forced to hide out as a nun in a convent after witnessing a crime. Her cover is threatened as she transforms the struggling choir there. Pop Idol singer and West End star Zoe Birkett will play Deloris, a role portrayed by Whoopi Goldberg in the film.

The tour will run from September next year until March 2028, opening in London before moving to Sunderland, Sheffield, Dublin, Manchester and Birmingham. Additional dates are scheduled in Cardiff, Nottingham, Brighton, Belfast and Derry.
