After multiple schedule changes and cancelled episodes, soap fans will be pleased to know that Coronation Street and Emmerdale will return to screens tonight. Viewers can normally tune in to their favourite soaps every weeknight, but they have been forced to make changes to their usual routines due to sports coverage on ITV.
World Cup Disruption
The FIFA World Cup 2026 kickstarted last month, with matches regularly broadcast on ITV1. This means Corrie and Emmerdale have been taken out of their usual time slots during the week. In a last minute change to the schedule, the soaps will now air tonight (Monday, July 6) in one-hour time slots, after they were originally cancelled.
Tonight's Episodes
Emmerdale airs at 7.30pm until 8.30pm. The descriptions for tonight's drama in the Dales reads: "Monty the dog is in danger, while Mack is livid and there is a crisis of conscience as Kerry urges Caleb to do the right thing. Paddy arrives with bad news."
Coronation Street will be broadcast from 8.30pm until 9.30pm. The episode description reads: "Abi and Kevin rush Alfie to hospital with breathing difficulties, while concern grows that Brody is being cast in the same mould as Idris. Cassie decides to stake her claim on Steve, and Hope invites a guilt-ridden Will to visit Sam."
