Coronation Street spoilers reveal that Nina Lucas, played by Mollie Gallagher, will make a life-changing decision in next week's episodes, which will significantly impact her uncle Roy Cropper.
Nina's Arrival and Bond with Roy
Nina first arrived on the cobbles in 2019 as the niece of Weatherfield stalwart Roy Cropper, portrayed by David Neilson. She is the daughter of Roy's half-brother, Richard Lucas. Following Richard's death, Roy welcomed Nina into his home, and over the years, they have developed a strong bond. Nina has been living above and working at Roy's Rolls café.
The New Opportunity
However, fresh spoilers suggest that this living arrangement is about to change. In scenes set to air shortly, Dev Alahan offers Nina, Asha Alahan, and Summer Spellman some money to spruce up his shop flat. While decorating, Asha hatches a plan and asks her father Dev if she can rent the flat herself. Dev is initially unconvinced, noting that Asha cannot afford it alone. But when Nina volunteers to move in with her, the question is whether Dev will give the green light.
Dev's Doubts and Nina's Anxiety
Later in the week, Dev remains doubtful that the scheme will come to fruition, only to feel deflated when he realizes Asha is deadly serious about flying the nest. Meanwhile, an anxious Nina frets over how to break the news to Roy after nearly seven years of living together above the café. The spoilers leave viewers wondering how Roy will take the news.
The Move-In
By the week's end, spoilers confirm that Summer and Amy Barlow pitch in to help Asha and Nina settle into the flat. As the group gathers together, Summer treats her friends to housewarming gifts and announces she is taking everyone out for dinner. Summer declares that she cannot think of a better way to spend Billy Mayhew's money than on her friends, leaving the group overcome with emotion.
Nina's Major Storylines
Nina has featured in numerous major storylines since arriving on the cobbles in 2019. In 2021, Mollie Gallagher secured the National Television Awards' Best Serial Drama Performance for the ITV soap's powerful hate crime storyline centering on Nina and Seb Franklin, who was tragically written out as part of the plot.
Coronation Street continues on weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
