Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has been meddling in the lives of her Coronation Street neighbours since the moment she first stepped foot on the cobbles, but she may finally have met her match in Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien).
Sarah confronts Jodie over attack
Viewers will recall that Sarah was attacked on the night of Theo Silverton's murder, and recent scenes have seen her work out that her assailant was Jodie. It was a throwaway comment about David the Dog's barking that planted the seed for Sarah, and Jodie's reaction to DS Lisa Connor-Swain's (Vicky Myers) questioning in tonight's episode all but confirmed it.
Despite her suspicions, Sarah told Lisa that she still didn't know who attacked her, and that she hadn't remembered any more details than she'd given in her original statement. However, when the detective was gone, Sarah rounded on Jodie, confronting her with her suspicions and threatening to report her to the police.
Jodie's ace up her sleeve
What Sarah hadn't anticipated was that Jodie had an ace up her sleeve. Having listened to Sarah and Lisa's discussion, Jodie knew that Sarah had lied about the time of her attack, pointing out that she'd claimed it was twenty minutes earlier than it actually was. In response to Sarah's threat of reporting her, Jodie warned her that if she did, she would find out why she'd lied and tell the police the truth.
Viewers know that this would be a disastrous outcome for Sarah, who was recently revealed as Theo's killer. On the night of his murder, they were on the scaffold together, and when Theo threatened her, she lashed out, hitting him with a metal bar and knocking him over the edge.
Sarah's alibi unravels
In a panic, she called Gary, who told her to make sure she was seen on the street to give herself a solid alibi. While she couldn't have anticipated the attack, it certainly worked in her favour. Until now...
Have Jodie and Sarah forced themselves into a stalemate? Or will one of them crack and bring the other down with them?
