Coronation Street fans are set to be devastated for the Connor-Swain household in upcoming scenes as Betsy Swain receives a life-changing diagnosis after collapsing at home.
Betsy Collapses and Rushed to Hospital
In the upcoming episodes, Carla and Lisa's daughter Betsy Swain is rushed to hospital in an ambulance after collapsing at home. A new dramatic ITV first look sees an ambulance driving away from number 6 and an anxious Carla arriving at hospital to find Lisa at Betsy's bedside.
A synopsis teases: "But what has happened to Betsy? And why does Dylan find himself in the firing line as her condition worsens? All will be revealed as Lisa demands answers and accusations fly, whilst Betsy tries to come to terms with her life changing diagnosis."
Hospital Scenes and MRI Scan
In the first look snap, Betsy is seen unconscious in a hospital bed while a concerned Lisa, Carla and Ryan surround her in support. It comes as episodes next week see Betsy and Dylan plan to make their relationship work long distance as she prepares to move to London. However, Betsy's plans suddenly change when Ryan finds her unconscious on the kitchen floor.
Later, at Betsy's bedside, a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI Scan. Meanwhile, Dylan arrives to see Betsy but comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy.
Accusations and Police Involvement
Later, an upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. When Sean suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down leaving Sean suspicious. Later in the cafe, Sean is shocked when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan and blames him for Betsy's collapse. Lisa calls at the station and tells the desk sergeant she'd like to report a crime.
Meanwhile, Dylan is upset when Lauren tells him that Betsy is in a bad way and doesn't want to see him. Later, a shocked Fiz tells Sean that she has just seen two police officers arrest Dylan at the precinct. Unaware that Lauren told Dylan to stay away, Betsy is stunned to discover Lisa has reported him to the police.
Dylan's Claim and Fallout
Later, when Sean and Dylan go into The Rovers, Lauren refuses to serve them. However, Dylan soon claims that he believes Brody was responsible for what happened to Betsy. How will Betsy and Brody react when they hear what Dylan is saying?
