Charlotte Hawkins Set for Channel 5 Debut This Week

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins is reportedly set to make her Channel 5 debut this week, temporarily stepping in for host Matt Allwright. The ITV star will also appear on Jeremy Vine's flagship programme the week after, according to sources.

New Role on Rival Channel

The popular newsreader will be switching channels to deputise for the Channel 5 presenter, marking the first time she has helmed a daytime show on the network. A source told The Sun, as reported by the Mirror: "It's a great step for Charlotte and shows just how much she is valued at 5 and trusted to step in when needed."

"She's a huge talent and there is lots of exciting things coming up for her. She's still got her ITV work but is very in demand and open to pushing herself," the source added.

Extensive Broadcasting Experience

Before joining GMB, Hawkins co-presented Sky's breakfast programme Sunrise alongside Eamonn Holmes. She also hosts the podcast Leaps and Hounds, focusing on dog behaviour and training, and has a show on Classic FM.

Despite her busy schedule, Hawkins, who is married to Mark Herbert, 50, managed a short writing retreat last year, hinting that 2026 will be the "year of the book." The couple married on August 23, 2008, at Chichester Cathedral, with fellow TV presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes in attendance.

Future Plans

Charlotte will appear on Channel 5 for the next two weeks but will maintain her role at GMB and ITV. Daily Record has reached out to her representatives for comment. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
